Roll Off Dumpster Service

We offer roll off dumpsters perfect for your residential and light commercial projects.  Our dumpsters are only 15 feet long, but can still hold up to 20 cubic yards of waste.  They can fit in many places that the longer dumpsters can not.  Perfect for home remodeling projects, garage clean outs, yard clean ups, and general junk removal.  If you require more than a 20 yard dumpster, no problem!  We can deliver you multiple dumpsters to suit your needs.  

 

For those that just need to get rid of a pile of junk quickly, we have the 1 Hr "you load" and go option!  Our driver will deliver a dumpster and you will have up to one hour to fill it and then we'll haul it away.

  • A representative will follow up with you to confirm reservation details

  • Invoice along with the terms and conditions will then be emailed to you

  • Make online payment (pre pay- delivery, pick up and one ton of waste)

What is "NOT" allowed?

Hazardous Materials (ex. asbestos), Flammable Liquids, Automobile fluids (ex. oil, grease, anti-freeze),Sealed Drums, Chemicals, Wet Paints, Biohazards (ex. medical waste), Batteries, Tires, Concrete, Dirt, Gravel, Brick, Asphalt, Florescent Light bulbs, and Freon must be removed from refrigeration.

What may cause additional charges or fees?

  • If your location is more than 20 miles from the your county Landfill. 

  • If you load the dumpster over the pre-paid one ton of waste.  $60 per ton overage fee.

  • Cost to remove waste if over the 8000 pound maximum weight capacity.

  • Placing something in the dumpster that is not allowed which results in extra fees at the landfill or environmental clean up.

  • Filling the dumpster above the top edge/fill line or not closing the rear door.

  • No access to the delivery site.

  • Blocking the container from being picked up (resulting in a dry run fee)

  • Requesting to keep the dumpster for additional days.

Do I need a permit?

You typically only need a permit if placing the dumpster on a public street, but you may want to check with your local government.  It is the customer's responsibility to get any required permits.  You will also want to check with your HOA if applicable.

Does someone have to be present for drop offs or pick ups?

It is preferred that someone be present to ensure a smooth delivery process, but it is not required.  Please make sure the drop-off area is clear and accessible. Text/email us a picture of the desired location if possible.  Move cars, equipment, debris and any other obstacles out of the way to ensure a successful delivery.  If no one is present for the delivery, our driver will do his best to accommodate the requested location of the container, but if that is not possible, the driver will make the decision on the best alternative placement. 

Where can the dumpster be placed?

Our 14 foot dumpsters can go just about anywhere.  Just take into consideration the size and weight of the dumpster, its contents and the delivery equipment when choosing where it goes.  We prefer it to be on level ground and there can be no overhanging tree branches or wires. Please be aware of any underground utilities or septic systems when choosing your placement.  Sherlin Lawncare is not responsible for any damages from the weight of the dumpster, its contents, or the delivery truck and trailer. Additionally, any hard surfaces such as concrete, asphalt, or brick could be scratched or cracked by the dumpster placement.  Sherlin Lawncare is not responsible for any damage to the hard surfaces.

What is the correct way to load a dumpster?

  • Distribute the weight evenly.

  • Put any heavier objects in the front half.

  • Put heavier/larger objects on the bottom.

  • Do not overfill past the top rail marked with "MAXIMUM LOADING LEVEL"

  • Make sure nothing is hanging out of the back so you are able to close the rear door to get it ready for pick up.

What if I need it longer than 7 days?

What if it rains or snows in the dumpster?

The land fill charges by weight and we have no control over the weather.  If it's going to rain or snow, we reccommend putting a tarp over the dumpster to prevent any additional weight from being added.

Dumpster Service Terms and Conditions 

 

Please read carefully.  

Acceptance of the roll off dumpster delivery or making payment constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.

 

Dumpster collection is a waste removal service and will be reflected as a service, not a rental, on your invoices.

 

Ordering Process- Dumpster requests can be made online or by phone.  A representative of Sherlin Lawncare will confirm all details with the client and then email confirmation, invoice and terms and conditions to the client.  Once payment is received, your dumpster will be scheduled.  All basic dumpster services must be pre-paid in advance for prior to scheduling your service.  Basic service includes the delivery fee, pick up fee and one ton of waste.  Additional fees may be applied after the dumpster has been picked up.  See additional fees section below.

 

Payment Process- All basic dumpster service fees must be prepaid online or over the phone prior to your service being scheduled.  (Basic service includes the delivery fee, pick up fee and one ton of waste) Your credit card will be securely held on file with the credit processing service provider for any additional charges above the original cost.  Such as loading more weight than what was included in the original fee, fines/fees received for putting items not allowed in the landfill (see list below), damage to the dumpster while in the client’s possession, etc.…. If you don’t have a credit card on file, you will be sent an additional invoice if there are any additional fees required which is due upon receipt.

 

Delivery and Pick Up-  Sherlin Lawncare will use commercially reasonable efforts to ensure timely delivery and pick up, but we are subject to conditions that are out of our control, including, but not limited to; inclement weather, road conditions, traffic delays, landfill delays, equipment failure,… therefore Sherlin Lawncare cannot guarantee delivery times and dates nor  be held liable to the client under any circumstances for costs, expenses, losses and/or damages incurred by the client in any manner relating to such delays in delivery or pick up of dumpsters.  Once the service period has expired, Sherlin Lawncare may remove the dumpster at any time.  The dumpster is not considered ready for pick up if the door is not securely closed and there is nothing above the fill line, which is the top edge of the dumpster.   

 

Dumpster placement- The client is responsible for choosing an appropriate location for their dumpster to be placed.  One that can support the weight of the dumpster and the trailer/truck used for pick-ups and deliveries, plus the weight of the contents loaded by the client into the dumpster.  Sherlin Lawncare will not be responsible for any damage above or below grade beneath the dumpster/delivery truck and trailer, such as scratches/cracks on concrete, brick, or asphalt, nor damage to turf and soil or anything below grade such as utilities, septic systems, and sprinklers.  The location must also be clear of any overhead obstructions such as trees and power lines.  The dumpster cannot be blocked in any way to obstruct the pick-up process.  Once delivered, the client shall not move, transport or attempt to move or transport the dumpster.  If you need the dumpster moved, please contact Sherlin Lawncare and we will send 

a truck to move the dumpster. (Dry Run Fee will apply.  See extra fees below).  The client is responsible for any permits, fees, charges, costs, expenses required by the client’s government locality, HOA, etc.… We have specifically identified that dumpsters and the processes of delivering and picking them up may cause damage and it’s the client’s responsibility to determine the properties exposure to this type of damage.   

 

Cancellations- Any scheduled dumpster service cancellations must be confirmed with a Sherlin Lawncare representative prior to 3pm the business day before the scheduled delivery day.  Sherlin Lawncare is entitled to a $25.00 cancelation fee which will be deducted from the refund of your original fee.  Any cancellations after 3pm the business day before the scheduled delivery day will result in a $150.00 cancellation fee.  

 

Weight Restriction and Overload Fees- The client is solely responsible for complying with the weight restrictions for their dumpster.  This applies to the amount of weight that was included in the original fee and the total weight that the dumpster itself can hold.  All our dumpsters have a maximum weight capacity of 8000 pounds for the contents in the dumpster.  All dumpsters have a maximum fill line around the top edge of the dumpster.  Nothing is allowed to be loaded above this maximum fill line.  ANY dumpster overweight or loaded above the maximum fill line is subject to extra fees including but not limited to a dry run fee, extra tonnage fee, and the costs to removed contents of an overloaded dumpster. The cost to manipulate a load to get it approved for transport. (See fees below)

 

Prohibited Substances- Client acknowledges that local, municipal, city, county, state and/or federal laws, regulations, rules and ordinances prohibit certain materials and substances from being placed in the landfill.  Please DO NOT put the following items in the dumpster.  The client is solely responsible for any penalty fees or expenses related to any of these items being placed in the dumpster.  Which includes any environmental cleanup costs resulting from a restricted item being placed in the dumpster and then leaked into the environment during transport or dumped at the landfill.

  • Dirt, Concrete, Asphalt, Stone- Due to the weight of these materials and the weight restrictions on our equipment, we are currently unable to accept these items.

  • Tires

  • All liquids, such as but not limited to paint, oil, antifreeze, fuel, chemicals…

  • Batteries from vehicles, boats and equipment

  • Dead Animals

  • Sealed Drums

  • Hazardous Waste, Pesticides, Poisons, etc.…

  • Medical waste

  • Computer Monitors and TVs

  • Compressors and freon must be removed from refrigerators, and air conditioners.

  • Florescent Light Bulbs

  • Railroad Ties

  • Propane Tanks

The client accepts full responsibility for the contents of the dumpster and accepts the risk of unauthorized waste being placed in the dumpster while it’s in the client’s possession.  

 

Waiver- Limitation of Liability and Disclaimer of Warranties- Except in the event of gross negligence or intentional misconduct of Sherlin Lawncare, the client hereby waives any and all claims and losses against Sherlin Lawncare relating to or arising from the dumpster service provided by Sherlin Lawncare. Including, but not limited to any damage to the client’s property, pavement, curbing, driveways, walkways, landscaping, lawn, well, irrigation systems, septic systems, and/or underground utilities related to or arising from the storage or transport of the dumpster in or on the client’s property, including without limitation, any damage to the client’s property form leaks or stains relating to the clients use of the dumpster. The dumpster is provided on an “as is” basis and Sherlin Lawncare makes no warranties to the client either expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, warranties as to merchantability, fitness for any particular use or purpose or that the dumpster will meet your requirements.

 

​Fees, what’s included- Your original service fee includes the following.

  •  
  • Delivery of dumpster

  • Pick up of dumpster after designated time period.

  • Landfill fees up to designated amount in reservation

 

Fees, What’s NOT included-

  • Overloading the dumpster by weight or height

  • Blocking the dumpster, preventing a pick-up, resulting in a “dry run fee”

  • Keeping dumpster longer than the designated pick-up date.

  • Fees and expenses related to unapproved items put into the dumpster which includes the possibility of environmental cleanup costs and penalties.

  • Damage from unapproved liquids leaking from the dumpster.

  • Dumpster move fee.

  • Damage to dumpster

 

Additional Fees- The client authorizes any additional fees to be charged to the card on file or agrees to pay an additional invoice.

  • Over designated weight included in original fee, rounded up to the next half ton.  ($60 per ton)(Amherst and Bedford County $80 per ton) Please be aware that rain and snow can affect the weight of the contents of the dumpster.  We recommend tarping the dumpster during these weather conditions.

  • Dry run fee- ($100-$150 depending on distance) any time driver makes a trip to the client’s property and is unable to deliver or pick up a dumpster due to conditions in control by the client.  Such as but not limited to. 

    • No access available to the property

    • Dumpster is blocked for pick-up.

    • Dumpster is above the 8000-pound (4 ton) maximum or loaded above max fill line.

    • Door not able to be closed.

    • Dumpster move request by client.

  • Dumpster moved to another spot on the same property ($100-$150 depending on distance)

  • Damage from unapproved liquids leaking from dumpster (cost will vary) Our dumpsters are not watertight, therefore any liquids placed in the dumpster could leak out.

  • Damage to the dumpster (cost will vary)

  • Unapproved item penalty fees/expenses (cost will vary)

  • Load manipulation to either adjust the load or remove items to get it below the max fill line, or to be able to close the rear door ($50 per hour.  $50 minimum fee)

  • Keeping dumpster beyond scheduled pick-up date by request or due to dumpster not being ready for pick up on the designated date.  Such as but not limited to the reasons listed for dry run fees.  ($10.00 per day late pick up fee)
